We have a lot of rescues that will need homes but sadly they can’t go home yet. They all arrived pregnant. Their previous owner had thrown males and females together.
Todd is a 3 month old little disabled boy. His mother came into the rescue pregnant. She came malnourished, sadly due to her lack of nutrition little Todd‘s legs did not develop correctly. He is a happy boy despite his disability. The leg he drags around is a dead leg. It is not causing him any pain. It’s important that Todd receives around the clock care. I do therapy with him 2xs a day. Make sure he’s on soft bedding that is cleaned daily. He will eventually get the leg amputated but he needs to be at least 6 months and at a good weight. Until then it’s very important that he not get any sores. The leg is useless but getting a sore on the leg can still cause him infection. He routinely sees a veterinarian to make sure he’s okay!
Her mom also came from the same place Todd’s mom came from. Mila was not born here but came to me at just a few days old. Her mom also didn’t have the proper nutrition which effected Mila‘s brain development. Mila shakes. I noticed the shaking immediately then quickly noticed the balance issue. She would fall over and run into things. Due to her constant shakes she had a hard time latching and was often pushed away by her siblings. I stepped in and bottle fed helping to steady her and getting her to latch. From there we worked on some balance techniques. She’s done amazingly and while she still shakes she no longer runs into things or falls over.
